    • 9 x 13 cake pan
    • Parchment paper or foil
    • Dutch oven

How to make Oreo Rice Krispie treats

Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.

In a large pot over low heat, melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and stir until smooth and completely melted.

Take it off the heat and stir in the vanilla extract (if using). Next add chopped Oreo cookies and the reserved mini marshmallows, then quickly add the Rice Krispies cereal.

Gently fold everything in until well coated giving that cookies and cream look.

Transfer the mixture into your prepared 9x13 dish or pan and press it down gently with a spatula or wax paper. Let the treats cool.

Melt the chocolate in the microwave at 20 sec intervals until fully melted.

Drizzle the melted chocolate on the top of the treats then immediately sprinkle the reserved Oreos on the top.

Let the chocolate drizzle set before for about 15 minutes before slicing into squares.

    Enjoy with

These cookies and cream Rice Krispie treats are delicious on their own, but they’re also great with:

    • A glass of cold milk or chocolate milk.
    • A scoop of Oreo or vanilla ice cream.
    • Dark chocolate Hot chocolate or coffee for an afternoon treat.

    How to store

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. These can be chilled for a firmer texture, but they’re best at room temp.

For longer storage, freeze in layers separated by parchment paper for up to 1 month. Thaw before serving.

    Helpful Tips

    • Once the marshmallows melt, mix and press into the pan fast before it cools.
    • Don’t crush all the Oreos till they are fine, leave them in chunky pieces for better texture. If you have too many fine crumbs you can sieve them out with a sieve.
    • Use fresh marshmallows because they melt better and taste better in no-bake treats.
    • Grease your hands or spatula to prevent sticking when pressing the mixture into the pan.

    FAQs

    Can I use different cereal?

Yes! While Rice Krispies work best, feel free to try cocoa cereal for a chocolatey twist.

How many Oreos should I use?

About 15 - 20 Oreos work well. Adjust depending on how “cookies and cream” you want it.

    Can I double the recipe?

Absolutely. Use a larger pan or make two batches and stack them with parchment paper in between.

    Are these gluten-free?

No, standard Rice Krispies cereal is not gluten-free, but there are gluten-free versions available. Be sure to check your Oreos too, some varieties are made without gluten.
