Barbecue mayonnaise popularly know as Mayocue is one of our favorite dips to serve with anything from burgers to fries, chicken wings and salads. It's such a simple sauce that combines the smoke flavors of barbecue sauce and creaminess of mayonnaise.

Like Dijonnaise, this is basically a two ingredient sauce with an option to tweak it to your taste with any additional spices like garlic or paprika. Personally I like to keep this barbecue and mayo sauce simple.

    What is Mayocue?

Mayocue is the brand name of one of Heinz combo sauces. This is a versatile condiment that combines mayonnaise and bbq sauce to make a tasty sauce for meats, french fries, burgers, sandwiches, salads and more.

The name Mayocue was coined from the two main ingredients used to make the sauce. This recipe is my homemade version of the Heinz mayocue sauce.

How to make this bbq mayo sauce

Add the mayonnaise and barbecue sauce to a bowl and mix till well combined. That's it!

    How to use Mayocue sauce

Mayocue is great on breaded fish fillets, air fryer fish and chips, chicken wings and fries, burgers and grilled meats.

I know you'll love this easy sauce because it tastes amazing. My kids request it often whenever we make potato wedges or air fryer crinkle cut fries. Yes we even use it on sandwiches.

    How to store

It will keep for up to a week in an air tight container. Stir it again when you are ready to use.

To determine how long it will last in the fridge, it's best to keep an eye on the expiration dates of the individual ingredients (mayonnaise and barbecue sauce) and use the earlier date as a general guideline for how long the combined mayocue will last.

    Helpful Tips

    • Mix thoroughly to combine.
    • Use your favorite flavor of bbq sauce, hickory, honey, whatever.
    • You can make it spicy by adding cayenne pepper or sriracha to the mix.
    • You can adjust the taste of your barbecue mayo by adjusting the ingredients based on your preference. You can decide to use an equal amount of both or a 2:1 ratio in favor of mayo. There's really no hard and fast rule about this recipe.
