Variations
If you are looking for a variation of this recipe, try Sonoran hot dogs. Those typically have the hot dogs wrapped in bacon before cooking. Next they are topped with your favorite beans and other toppings that include caramelized or fresh onions and salsa.
Also feel free to use different types of hot dogs too.
What to serve with it
Like traditional hot dogs, Mexican hot dogs pair well with a variety of sides. You can serve with classic Mexican street food sides like elote (Mexican street corn), guacamole and chips, air fryer crinkle cut fries or a fresh salad with lime dressing. You'll love this Mexican tuna salad.

- Lightly brush the tops of the buns with melted butter then air fry for another minute or two to get the buns warm and toasty.

Notes
- No need to preheat the air fryer. If you do, keep an eye on the hot dogs as it may likely cook faster than stated in this recipe.
- Scoring the hot dogs is optional big recommend. I've tried both ways and didn't get a bursted hot dog without scoring. However I prefer the aesthetics of the scored hot dogs.
- No need to grease the air fryer, the hot dogs don't stick to the basket. You can use a perforated silicon or paper liner for easier clean up if you prefer. If using the disposable parchment paper liner, ensure you have enough hot dogs on it to keep it down.
- I used beef hot dogs feel free to use turkey or pork.
- The nutritional info doesn't include the toppings.
