Instructions
Prepare the Buns
Cut the burger buns in half and butter each cut side.
Heat a pan or griddle over medium heat. Place the buns, cut side down, in the pan.
Toast until golden brown (about 1 to 2 mins), then set aside.
Season the Ground Beef
Place the ground beef in a mixing bowl. Add salt, spices, and Worcestershire sauce.
Mix until well combined, then divide the mixture into 4 or 5 equal-sized balls.
Cook the Burgers
Wipe the pan clean, then heat it over medium-high heat.
Place the ground beef balls in the pan, pressing each one down with a spatula or burger press to flatten.
Cook for about 3–4 minutes, then flip to the other side.
Top each patty with a slice of cheese and cook for another 3 minutes, until the cheese melts.
Assemble the Burgers
Spread the smash burger sauce on the cut side of each bun.
Layer a piece of lettuce on top of the sauce.
Place a cheese-topped burger patty on the lettuce, then add tomato slices.
Cover with the other half of the bun.
Serve and Enjoy
Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade smash burgers!
