Rolo pretzel turkeys are the perfect sweet and salty Thanksgiving treats everyone will love! These adorable, no-bake bites use Rolo candies, pretzels, and candy eyes to create fun, festive turkeys.
½ cup Mini m&m candy (Orange and yellow ¼ cup of each)
Red decorative icing
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 275°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. For easier assembly, work in small batches so the chocolate doesn’t harden before you finish each turkey.
Place 6-12 pretzel twists upside down on the parchment-lined sheets.
Put one unwrapped Rolo on each pretzel, positioning it slightly toward the bottom to leave room for the candy corn “feathers” at the top.
Bake the pretzels with Rolos for about 1 minute—just enough to soften the chocolate without melting it entirely, which makes it easier to add the decorations without losing the shape.
Remove from the oven and quickly press three candy corn pieces into the top of each softened Rolo for the turkey’s feathers, being careful not to shift the Rolo.
Place two candy eyes on the upper part of each Rolo for the turkey’s eyes.
Press an M&M just below the eyes to create a beak, securing it gently in place.
Using red icing, add a small line to one side of the M&M to form the wattle or snood.
Let the turkeys set fully at room temperature for about 20 minutes or chill them in the refrigerator for 5-10 minutes to speed things up.
Repeat the process with any remaining Rolos and pretzels. Store the completed turkeys in the fridge until you’re ready to serve. Enjoy!
Notes
Adjust the recipe as needed by halving, doubling, or tripling it based on how many treats you want to make. It’s best to work in small batches. If the chocolate sets too quickly (especially in cooler rooms), it can make it challenging to add the candy corn “feathers.”
Pretzel twists vary in size. If yours are smaller and don’t provide enough room behind the Rolo to support the candy corn, try trimming the white tips off the candy corn before placing them. Hold each piece in place for 5-10 seconds to help it stick.
For the turkey’s wattle or snood, you can use melted red candy wafers, red cookie icing, or red frosting in a piping bag. If using candy melts, let them cool slightly before snipping the tip to pipe; otherwise, they may flow too quickly and make decorating tricky.
For a fun twist, you can substitute mini peanut butter cups in place of Rolos!
