Reindeer Oreo balls are a fun and festive treat perfect for the holiday season! Made with just a few ingredients, these cute no-bake Christmas Oreo balls are easy to prepare and sure to be a hit with family and friends. Let me show you how to make Oreo balls in a few simple steps!
Candy melt melting pot, double boiler, or microwave
Ingredients
45Oreo Cookies
8ouncecream cheese(softened to room temperature)
2cupspretzel twists(broken in half)
15ouncesGhirardelli dark chocolate melting wafers
Black sugar pearls(for the eyes)
Red Hots(for the nose)
Instructions
Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper; set aside.
Pulse the Oreo cookies in a food processor or high-speed blender until they form fine crumbs.
In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese on high with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy.
Add the Oreo crumbs to the bowl and mix on medium speed until the ingredients are fully combined.
Using a 1.5-inch cookie scoop, portion out even balls of the mixture, then roll each one between your palms to smooth them. Place each ball on the prepared baking sheet.
After all balls are formed, place the baking sheet in the refrigerator and chill for about 2 hours.
Melt the dark chocolate wafers in a double boiler over low heat, or microwave in a microwave-safe bowl on a low setting, stirring every 30 seconds, until completely melted and smooth.
Using a fork, dip each Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, allowing any excess to drip off by tapping the fork on the bowl’s edge. Place each coated ball back on the baking sheet.
Insert two small pretzel pieces as antlers, pressing them about 1/4 to 1/2 inch into each ball.
For the nose, press a Red Hot candy onto the front of each ball and hold it for about 10 seconds to help it set. Then add two candy eyes just above the nose.
Repeat this process for the remaining Oreo balls. Re-melt the dark chocolate as needed if it begins to harden.
Let the reindeer Oreo balls sit for about 15 minutes, or until fully set.
For quicker hardening, refrigerate them until firm. Keep them chilled until you’re ready to serve. Enjoy!
Notes
Any Oreo flavor works for this recipe. However, If using Double Stuf or Mega Stuf Oreos, which contain more cream, the balls may turn out softer. You may want to use a bit less cream cheese or remove the filling from half of the cookies if using these varieties.
For the eyes, you can use black sugar pearls or pipe with black candy melts. For the nose, try using red M&M’s or another red cinnamon candy like Hot Tamales instead of Red Hots.
