2barsGhirardelli ( substitute with 10 oz bag melting wafers
⅓ cuppatriotic nonpareils or sprinkles(substitute blue sanding sugar)
Instructions
Rinse the strawberries and gently pat them completely dry with paper towels. Moisture will prevent the chocolate from sticking properly.
In a microwave-safe bowl, heat white chocolate chips in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and fully melted.
Hold each strawberry by the green stem or insert a toothpick into the top. Dip it about two-thirds of the way into the melted white chocolate.
Immediately dip the bottom third of the chocolate-covered strawberry into the nonpareils to create a red, white, and blue look.
Place finished strawberries on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Let them sit at room temperature until the chocolate is set, or refrigerate for 10–15 minutes to speed up the process.
Notes
Make sure the strawberries are completely dry before dipping any water can cause the chocolate to seize and prevent the chocolate from sticking.
These are best served the same day, but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
Try mixing it up with blue sugar crystals, star sprinkles, or even edible glitter for extra sparkle.
