Wash, peel, and dice the fruits into bite-sized pieces. Then place the diced fruits in a large mixing bowl.
In a small bowl, whisk together honey, fresh lime juice, and lime zest if using.
Drizzle the honey lime dressing over the top of the fruits.
Gently toss to coat the fruit in the dressing, garnish with mint if desired. Then serve immediately or chill for later.
Notes
Use ripe but firm fruits to prevent mushiness.
You can swap out honey for maple syrup if you prefer. Also lemon can be used instead of lime.
Chill before serving for the best flavor. When ready to serve, gently toss the salad to redistribute the dressing.
Mix up the fruits, you can swap in raspberries, blackberries, or peaches based on what’s in season.
When choosing to swap out fruits, be aware that some fruits release more juice than others, especially melons, which can make the salad watery over time.
Apples, pears, and bananas tend to brown quickly, so it’s best to add them just before serving if you choose to include them.
Tossing apples and pears in lemon juice will help reduce the oxidation process that causes the browning.
Depending on the number of servings you are making, this recipe can be halved, doubled or tripled.
