Snowman Oreo balls also called Oreo snowman truffles are the perfect treat for your holiday dessert table. Easy to make and no baking required, these adorable no bake Oreo balls will be a hit at any Christmas gathering.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
Pulse Oreo cookies in a food processor or blender until fine crumbs form.
In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese with a hand mixer until smooth.
Add Oreo crumbs to the cream cheese and mix until well combined.
Scoop 1.5-inch balls, roll them smooth, and place on the lined tray. Chill in the fridge for 2 hours.
While chilling, melt ¼ cup of candy melts. Dab some onto an Oreo half and place an upside-down Rolo on top. Decorate with sprinkles if desired. Let the hats harden.
Melt white candy melts using a double boiler or microwave, stirring until smooth.
Dip each Oreo ball into the melted candy using a fork, then place back on the tray.
Quickly decorate the face with black pearls the for eyes, a carrot nose, and more black pearls for a smile before the coating hardens.
Add the snowman hat on top. If the coating has set, dab some melted candy to help it stick. Repeat with the rest.
Let the snowmen set for 15 minutes, then refrigerate until ready to serve. Enjoy!
Notes
Any Oreo flavor will work for this recipe, such as Peppermint, Gingerbread, Chocolate, or Golden Oreos. Use about 45 regular cookies to maintain the right texture.
Avoid using Double Stuf or Mega Stuf Oreos, as they make the mixture too wet. If using them, reduce the amount of cream cheese to help the balls hold their shape.
Don’t overheat the candy melts, as they can seize and thicken. Use a double boiler or melting pot on low heat for a smooth, thin coating.
If Wilton’s Snowman Sprinkles aren’t available, use black sugar pearls or black icing gel for the eyes and smile, and an orange sprinkle or tic tac for the nose.
