Hershey's Kisses acorn treats are adorable bite-sized snacks that combine the classic chocolate kiss with a cookie base to create a whimsical acorn shape.
1 * Skewer (for dabbing melted chocolate on the wafers)
Ingredients
¾ cupmini chocolate chips(divided into ½ and ¼)
40mini Nilla wafer cookies(substitute with mini nutter butter cookies)
40Hershey's Chocolate kisses(unwrapped)
Instructions
Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set it aside.
Reserve ¼ cup of the mini chocolate chips for the stems. In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the remaining ½ cup of chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until fully melted.
Place the Nilla wafers upside down. Use a small spoon or a skewer to add a dab of melted chocolate to the center of the flat side of each cookie.
Press the bottom of a Hershey’s kiss onto the chocolate on each Nilla wafer. The melted chocolate will act as glue. Repeat with the remaining Hershey’s kisses and Nilla wafers. Refrigerate for 10 minutes to set completely.
Once set, reheat the reserved melted semisweet chocolate chips.
Use a skewer to apply a small amount of melted chocolate to the top of each Nilla wafer. Press the flat side of a chocolate chip onto the chocolate to create the acorn stem. Repeat with the remaining acorns and chocolate chips.
Return the tray to the refrigerator for another 5 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden and the stems to set. Enjoy!
Notes
Feel free to useany flavor Hershey’s kiss you’d like that is chocolate such as Milk chocolate, or special dark as long as the exterior is covered with chocolate.
Substitute the mini Nilla wafers, with mini Nutter Butters or mini Golden Oreos.
You can also substitute the acorn stems with small pieces of pretzel sticks instead of using Mimi chocolate chips.
