Ground turkey pasta is a delicious, easy, and budget-friendly dinner idea perfect for any night of the week. Made with simple ingredients, this cheesy pasta is a hit with picky eaters and comes together in no time.
Start by cooking the macaroni pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions. Once done, reserve 1 cup of pasta water, drain and set aside.
While the water is boiling start making the sauce. In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until they become translucent.
Add the ground turkey to the skillet with the onions, breaking it up with a wooden spatula.
Sprinkle in garlic powder, Italian seasoning, curry powder, dry rosemary, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
Stir everything together, allowing the spices to coat the turkey and infuse it with flavor. Cook until ground turkey browned and cooked through.
Pour in the crushed Tomatoes, honey, water and chicken Bouillon powder. Stir to combine, then reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
When the sauce has reduced, Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine. Let the sauce simmer for another 5 minutes, then add shredded cheese, stirring until it melts and the sauce is creamy.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, stirring to coat it well in the creamy sauce.
Taste and adjust the seasoning, if needed. If the sauce is too thick, add the pasta water a little at a time, stirring until it reaches your desired consistency.
Garnish with extra cheese or fresh herbs if desired, and serve hot.
Notes
Don’t Overcook the Pasta.
Season the meat well while cooking to build layers of flavor.
I used macaroni, feel free to try different pasta shapes like penne, rotini, shells etc.
